Meet Juniper, Our Education Kestrel

Juniper came to us last fall with a wing injury that healed — but not well enough for the precision hunting a kestrel’s life demands. A falcon that can’t hover can’t survive.

Releasing her would have been a death sentence, so she has a new job: education ambassador. She now visits schools and scout troops, teaching kids why you don’t use glue traps, why barbed wire matters to raptors, and what to do when they find an injured bird.

She is, frankly, better behaved than most of her audiences.
